Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are a professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. They are a member of the Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was founded in 1961 and has undergone several name changes, originally starting as the Chicago Packers before becoming the Chicago Zephyrs, and later the Baltimore Bullets. The franchise eventually settled on the name “Wizards” in 1997. The Wizards play their home games at Capital One Arena, which they share with the NHL’s Washington Capitals. The team has seen various periods of success, including multiple playoff appearances and an NBA Championship win in 1978 (under the Bullets name).
