Fotbal

Fotbal, known as football in most parts of the world and referred to as soccer in the United States and Canada, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score by getting a ball into the opposing team’s goal. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players primarily use their feet to maneuver and pass the ball, but they can also use other parts of their body except for their hands and arms, unless they are the goalkeeper.

The sport is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Football is one of the most popular and widely followed sports globally, with significant cultural, social, and economic impacts. Major tournaments include the FIFA World Cup, continental championships, and league competitions at national and club levels, which attract millions of fans and players. Football’s simple rules, accessibility, and universal appeal contribute to its status as a leading sport worldwide.
