Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, each consisting of nine players. It is played on a diamond-shaped field, with a distinct layout that includes four bases arranged in a square. The objective of the game is to score runs by hitting a ball thrown by a pitcher with a bat and then running around the bases to return to home plate. The team that scores the most runs wins the game.

The game is divided into innings, with each team taking turns to bat and field. The batting team attempts to hit the ball into the field of play, while the fielding team aims to get the batters out, either by catching the ball after it’s hit, throwing the ball to a base before the runner arrives, or striking out a batter.

Baseball has a rich history and is especially popular in the United States, where it is often referred to as “America’s pastime.” It has various levels of play, from amateur leagues to professional organizations like Major League Baseball (MLB). The sport is known for its statistics, strategies, and traditions, and it involves various skills such as pitching, hitting, and base running.
